DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL

On your arrival in this thriving capital, your private guide and driver will greet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. After check-in, enjoy some free time to adjust to the new time zone. 

DAY 2: HANOI CITY TOUR  ( B/L)



Have breakfast at hotel. We start our trip wi th a visit to the Ho Chi Minh complex on the site where he declared Vietnam’s independence in 1945, and see the reverence with which Vietnamese people trea t their “Uncle Ho”. Other sites that we will visit with our local guide include: House 54, Stilt House, Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda. (Depending on the line and time, we may go inside the mausoleum to see Ho Chi Minh or just walk from outside).
Leaving the Ho Chi Minh Complex we stop at Hoang Thanh Thang Long (The Hanoi Citadel) to learn about this place and the ressistance against the French in late 19th century. We will have lunch at a traditional local Vietnamese restaurant, where our local guide will explain the secrets of this local dish.
 
In the afternoon, continuing on our journey through Hanoi we drive to the Temple of Literature.  Originally built in honour of Confucius by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong in 1070, a university was added to the grounds six years later. The university provided education to the royal family and children of the aristocracy or "mandarins". The University remained here until Emperor Gia Long moved the countries administrative capital from Hanoi to Hue in the 18th century then we visit the Museum of Ethnology. Since there is no change for the inside, we will take a quick walk to see the outside display of the Museum, which features some typical houses and tombs of Vietamese minorities such as Viet, Muong, Bana, Co Tu, H’mong, Tay, Thai…
 
Return to the Old Quarter, we will enjoy a cyclo (rickshaw) orientation tour for 45 minutes through Hanoi’s Old Quarter. This bustling area of narrow streets and alley ways houses thousands of small family businesses and shops Traveling by cyclo is the way to get a real feeling for the town as well as some great photographs. Enjoy water puppet show in the end of day.  Drop you at hotel. From Friday to Sunday, walking street is operated in Old Quarter and Hoan Hiem Lake where you can join traditional dance, folk songs by street actors, they also show folk games as Bamboo dancing, spinning tops, mandarin square Capturing, Stilt walking, bamboo jacks etc. 

DAY 3: HANOI – HOA LU – TAM COC – CYCLING ( B/L/D)



8.00: You are picked at hotel, drive to Hoa Lu of Ninh Binh province by private car/ van. Arrive in Hoa Lu around 10.00 am. Hoa Lu is the ancient capital of Vietnamfrom the year of 968 to 1010.It is a worth visit to the two left old temples of the Dinh and Le king. Learn about the history of country foundation of the Great Viet after being liberatedfrom the thousand years of Chinese domination. Transfer to restaurant for lunch. Enjoy local speciality food of Ninh Binh. 
After lunch, take a rowing boat on meandering canals (2 people in one boat  throughout 3 tunnel grottoes called “ Tam Coc”. Enjoy the landscape of green rice field among mountains and rain forest of the National Special Preservation zone. Rowing back then continue bike trip to Bich Dong (Jade Cave) visit three ancient pagodas built on mountain cliff (the Lower, Middle and Upper pagoda). The van takes you to hotel in Ninh Binh. Check in hotel and have dinner at local restaurant. Stay overnight at hotel in Ninh Binh.
 
DAY 4: NINH BINH –  GALAXY CAVE - MAI CHAU ( B/L/D)



Have breakfast at hotel and then you are transferred to Son Ha Commune, located Nho Quan Dist, NinhBinh province to visit Galaxy Cave. To reach this cave, tourists have to be on bamboo boat to float over a small canal among the paddy fields for 1km before coming to the land and reach the cave. After strolling along the curling rocky path of the foot of Tuong Mountain for 500m, visitors would come to the cave gate. Going into the cave and looking back, you will see a sparkling light ribbon coming through the gate to reflect the stalactites. All the length of Galaxy cave is about 700m with two areas: 200m dry cave and 500m water cave. Visiting to the water grotto, travelers would float on the underneath river which is name Galaxy which appears with curling line under thousands of sparkling stalactites which suddenly on the right above curl of the cave ceiling. There are also many stalactites under various shapes, which need to be named. In the peaceful place, visitors would feel the sound of the oar striking clearly, the sound of water drop and thousands of bats inside the grotto. Depart to Mai Chau, have lunch on the way at local restaurant.
Arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau Valley surrounded by spectacular karst rock formations and rice paddies in the late afternoon and have dinner at stilthouse. Stay overnight in a traditional stilt-house* of the Thai people, an incredibly enriching experience in which you can learn about this fascinating culture first hand. (The home stay accommodation consists of comfortable curtained-off sleeping areas in one long room; all bedding and mosquito nets are provided).
 
DAY 5: MAI CHAU TREKKING (B/L/D)



In the morning, spend some hours exploring the surrounding Thai villages before a light trek 2-4 hours through Xa Linh, Pa Co which is home of the Green Hmong hill tribe. Picnic Lunch is served on road. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisure walk to Thai villages of Van Mai, Mai Hich, Cum and Xam Khoe before transferring back your accommodation.  
This evening enjoy a traditional Thai performance of music and dance. The Thai ethnic group has inhabited this area for centuries and much of their lifestyle and traditions have remained unchanged over the years. Stay overnight at stilthouse in Mai Chau
 
DAY 6: MAI CHAU – SON LA – DIEN BIEN (B/L/D)
 
Start the day with a simple breakfast with your host family. Farewell to your host of homestay drive to Son La. Let’s stop en route to visit villages of various tribes including the H’mong, Thai, Muong and Dzao and orchard, tea farm in Moc Chau plateau – Vietnam’s premier tea-growing region, before reach Son La (200km from Mai Chau) for a late lunch. In the afternoon, continue along winding mountain roads through North Vietnam’s stunning countryside. The most picturesque scenery here is Pha Din Pass, well-known as a historical site during the 1st Indochina War ended in 1954, and a charming and dangerous pass at elevation 1,300m with breathtaking view. According to local legend, “Pha Din” means the connection between Heaven and Earth. On arrival, check in your hotel and spend rest of day at leisure.

 
DAY 7: DIEN BIEN – PHONG THO (B/L/D)




Nestled in a heart shaped basin near the border with Laos, lies Dien Bien Phu, the famous historical battleground, where the Vietnamese successfully defeated the French, marking the end of French colonial occupation. 
Start the day early with a visit to the local market where you will meet charming Thai tribes in their traditional costume purchasing their farm products.
Next, you will visit Dien Bien Phu Museum and A1 hill then continue to Dien Bien Phu Cemetery to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the heroes who devoted their lives for the victory of the historical Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Visit General De Castries’s Bunker, Old Muong Thanh Bridge and Nam Rom river.
After the lunch, proceed to Lai Chau along a bumpy road, passing a series of ethnic villages of Kho Mu (Xa), Huoi Chan, and Bung Giat. Continue to Phong Tho on scenic roads, crossing the junctions of Da and Na rivers by the way of the Chinese-built Hang Tom suspension bridge. From here, the road weaves its way northwards through the picturesque and steadily more spectacular Na River valley, past more ethnic villages of White Thai, Kho Mu and later Red and White H’mong minorities. Arrive in Phong Tho and spend rest of the day to cycle around the village. Stay overnight at hotel in Phong Tho. 
 
DAY 8: PHONG THO -  SAPA (B/L)

This morning, leave Phong Tho for Sapa. The road is a bit bumpy at times, but the rough route is quickly compensated by the magnificent scenery: yawning valleys, winding rivers, and canonical mountains – a photographer’s dream. The drive to Sapa takes you up Tram Son – the highest pass in Vietnam – and views of the Fansipan Peak, known as “the roof of Indochina”.  Stop en route to visit Heaven’s Gate and the Silver Waterfall. You arrive in Sapa in the afternoon. Nestled in a sweeping valley near the Chinese border, Sapa is Northwest Vietnam’s premier travel destination. Built in 1922 as a French colonial hill station, this quaint town is now a trekker’s paradise, offering hiking routes through terraced rice fields and enchanting hill tribe villages. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the colorful town on your own. Stay overnight in Sapa.
 
DAY 9: SAPA – SU PAN – BAN HO  - SAPA (B/L)



08:00 am: The local guide pick you up and driver then transferred to Su Pan Village. There we start our trekking day by walking downhill through the breathtaking scenery. We will trek through rice paddy fields until we reach Ban Ho village. This is a Tay village. We have a short visit of local house before a suspension bridge a nice house where your guide will prepare your delicious lunch. After lunch, we continue our walk to another village. This is a Red Dao village this time, called Nam Toong. Stop by a nice house to taste a cup of tea before heading back to Ban Ho.
Swimming is possible but you absolutely should check your guide’s advice before jumping on the water. At the end of day, our vehicle is waiting for us for the journey back to Sapa from Ban Ho.  Dinner by our account. Stay overnight at hotel in Sapa.

DAY 10: SAPA – HANOI / DRIVING (B/L)

This morning, you are free for visit Sapa town as Sapa Catherdal and Sapa Market.  After lunch, we depart to Hanoi by private car. Arrive in Hanoi around 18.00, drop you at hotel in Hanoi for check in. You are at leisure in the evening. Dinner is served by yourself.

DAY 11: HANOI – HALONG BAY/ OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE  (B/L/D)



Morning pickup at 8:00 AM from your hotel for transfer to Halong Bay, which is about 160 km or 3.5-hour drive away. The transfer is approximately 3 hours. You will see some rural areas of the Red River Delta with plenty of chances to take photos of Vietnamese farmers working in paddy fields and you may stop on the way to admire the local scenery. 
Arrive in Halong City at 11:30 AM and check in aboard the booked junk right after the welcome drink is served. Start cruising while having lunch on board and enjoy the mighty bay view.
Arrive in Halong City at 11:30 AM and check in aboard the booked junk when your journey across Halong Bay starts. Halong Bay meaning Descending Dragon Bay in Vietnamese as legend has it that it was where a holly dragon landed down from sky. The bay, famous as one of the world’s wonders and heritage sites whose formation dates back 500 million years, consists of around 2,000 karst islands and islets scattered over an area of 1,553 km2.
After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay dotted with golden sails, go swimming on a quiet beach or sunbath on the sundeck. Later in the afternoon, you will visit an interesting fishing village with an opportunity to interact with local people who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. An optional kayaking trip is available weather permitting. Back onboard enjoy a lavish dinner and enjoy the bay view at sunset. Spend a night on board.
 
DAY 12: HALONG BAY – HANOI (B/L)

Wake up with Tai Chi exercises on the sundeck and continue cruising the Bay. Enjoy breakfast buffet in the restaurant, then visit the limestone grotto. Enjoy lunch on board and disembark in Halong City around 12.00 noon and private transfer to Hanoi airport. Say goodbye to the crew then transfer to Hanoi. Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.
11:00: Transfer back Hanoi by private vehicle. Arrive in Hanoi around 17.00, drop you at hotel and free at your leisure in the evening.
 
DAY 13: HANOI DEPARTURE ( B)

Have breakfast at hotel. You are free for shopping or relax at hotel. Depending on your departure flight, our guide will meet you at hotel for international flight. End trips.
